I am a retired electronics tech, living near Lockhart, Texas, the Bar-B-Que capital of the world! I worked for several departments at the University of Texas at Austin for 30 years, including The Department of Computer Sciences, where I managed the electronics and computer maintenance shop, overseeing a network of close to 1000 computers, a PBX phone system of over 300 phones and updating classrooms and lecture halls to computer control of lighting, projection screens, black boards, sound and projection equipment. Since retiring I have been self-employed. My work is mostly now installing and maintaining Audio/video equipment, telephone systems and computer networks, primarily wireless hot spots and and providing rural wireless internet access, as well as developing equipment for A/V control. We finished building the apartment on top of our shop recently and have it listed for short-term rental. It came out really nice. You can check it out at http://www.silentvalleytx.com Austin Habitat for Humanity takes quite a bit of my spare time. You can see some photos of my recent builds under the Photos tab. Caldwell County Habitat for Humanity is a chapter of Austin Habitat for Humanity where I am the head of construction. To see what we are up to please click HERE
